When in the wild, Okuri-Inus follow anything, mostly humans, that treads on their turf closely and precisely flawlessly matching step for step while maintaining a safe distance from their target. The behavior of an Okuri-Inu can be simply described as stalker-esque in nearly everything it does. This, as a result, causes their fear inducing aura to affect humans and humanoid creatures along with other Youkai. They, however, always harbor intimidating human forms alongside their trademark red eyes, dog ears, and claws. Stronger specimens are capable of properly using Youjutsu and attaining their own human forms as is the case with Akaho. Thus making mixing them together a fatal mistake. Despite this, they are entirely different creatures with different abilities and behaviors. They are often confused for Hellhounds those of which bear similar appearances. Unlike most Youkai, these Youkai are usually unable to use Youjustu properly and thus rely more on their physical prowess. Despite their malnourished and unhealthy appearance, these Youkai are incredibly fast and rather strong. Their teeth and claws are capable of easily tearing through whole bodies and most armors. These creatures always bear piercing red eyes that seem to harbor a slight glow a distinct feature that sets them apart from their natural counterparts. Okuri-Inus are Youkai that take the form of a wild dog or wolf with either pitch-black fur or, in rare instances, no fur at all. As a result, they have been exiled to live in forests and mountain passes away from the rest of the Youkai. They, despite being both valued and feared by the two Youkai factions, are viewed rather negatively by all Youkai as voracious beasts that can strike at any moment. They are revered as the most sought after assassins and bodyguards amongst both the West and East Factions. This effect even takes hold in Youkai stronger than them, causing them to be likened to the Boogeyman of the Youkai world. Okuri-Inus are a rare, but dangerous specie of Youkai that harbor ferocity that incites fear within other Youkai.
